Adapters

VPA 3CG Profibus adapter

VPA 3CG Profibus adapter

VAMP protection relays can be connected to the Profibus DP by using a Fieldbus board or external device. The relay can then be monitored from the Host system.
Fieldbus board can be installed inside in a 200-series VAMP-relay. The external device can be used with all VAMP protection relays.

VAM 16D external led module

VAM 16D external led module

VAM 16D external led module

The external Vam16D led module provides 16 extra led indicators for Vamp 230, Vamp 245, Vamp 255, Vamp 257 feeder/motor managers and Vamp 259 line manager where a large number of alarms needs to be displayed, each on individual led. A Vamp feeder/motor manager together with the optional VAM 16D led module is an optimised arrangement which replaces the traditional combination of separate alarm panel/unit and feeder protection relays. Mounting of the VAM 16D is flexible since it can either be done directly on the feeder/motor manager or directly beside it in the switchgear door. The module is normally connected to the serial port of the relays front panel.

Module has to be enabled from VAMPSET or from relay's local panel before connecting to the relay. It can be configured using VAMPSET. In VAMPSET there are following menu for external LED module. From this menu you can find connection matrix and operation mode setting. In matrix you can connect signals to external leds. All signals of the "output matrix" are available. For every led you can connect one or more signals.

Communication modules

A complete set of communication adaptor modules are available to ensure that all needed substation communication bus and media requirements are met. The modules offered provide interfaces varying from traditional electrical RS485 (twisted pair) and fibre optics to modern Ethernet enabling new possibilities in terms of data rates and bandwidth. Some of the available communication modules also support flexibility in terms of multiple interfaces, e.g. one for the substation process bus and another for relay maintenance i.e. uploading and downloading of settings and uploading of disturbance recordings. All communication modules are easily configured with simple dip-switch settings.

VSE 001 External fiber optic module

VSE 001 external fiber optic module

VSE 001 External Fiber Optic Module  is used to connect VAMP protection relays to a fiber optic loop or a fiber optic star. Additionally this module can be used with a any device which has a RS-232 or TTL serial interface, when a serial fiber optic interface is required.

VSE 002 RS-485 module

VSE 002 external RS-485 module

VSE 002 External RS-485 Module  is used to connect VAMP protection relays to a RS-485 bus. Additionally this module can be used with any device, which has a RS-232 or TTL serial interface, when an RS-485 interface is required.

VSE 002 RS-485 module

VSE 003 local port RS-485 interface module

VSE 003 local port RS-485 interface module  provides:
a) Galvanically isolated RS-485 interface to External I/O modules
b) Galvanically isolated RS-485 interface for a "Service Bus"
c) The VSE 003 is attached to the LOCAL serial port at the back of a VAMP 200-  series relay.

The RS-485 interface supports 2- wire connection. There is a dip switch to switch the termination resistors on or off. The direction control of the RS-485 transceiver is done automatically. The automatic direction control turns the transceiver to transmit mode after detecting the falling edge of a 0-bit. When the transceiver is changed to receive mode, the RS-485 line changes state to logic 1 state due to the biasing resistors.

VSE 004 VAMP 40 RS-485 module

VSE 004 VAMP 40 RS-485 module

VSE 004 VAMP 40 RS-485 Interface Module provides:
a) Galvanically isolated RS-485 interface for LOCAL communication or EXTERNAL I/O modules
b) Galvanically isolated RS-485 interface for REMOTE communication.

The RS-485 interface supports 2- wire connection. There is a dip switch to switch the termination resistors on or off. The direction control of the RS-485 transceiver is done automatically. The automatic direction control turns the transceiver to transmit mode after detecting the falling edge of a 0-bit. When the transceiver in changed to receive mode, the RS-485 line changes state to logic 1 state due to the biasing resistors.
